Beeston Bump, Beeston Priory and Sheringham....

Beeston Bump is part of one of two hills left behind when the glaciers retreated northwards at the end of the last ice age 10,000 to 15,000 years ago.  At this time most of the North Sea was dry land with the River Thames and the River Rhine forming one large estuary.  Beeston Bump stands 63 metres above sea level.  During World War II this hill saw service as a signals intelligence location.
