Ivinghoe Beacon, Buckinghamshire

Ivinghoe Beacon is the start of both the Ridgeway and the Icknield Way long distance paths, it stands 249 metres above sea level and is the gateway to the Chilterns.  There is an Iron Age hill fort here and Bronze Age burial mounds, indeed people have 'walked the chalk' for thousands of years......

Looking over the Vale of Aylesbury.... my heart sung as this beautiful vista opened up before me....
