Some pretty scenery en route to the Slipper Chapel...
The Pilgrim path follows the route of the old railway line … well done Dr Beeching (not!)…
On reaching The Slipper Chapel at Houghton St Giles....
I didn't walk the Holy Mile barefoot, I felt sandals were reverential enough....

I wouldn't have walked barefoot either, my feet are to tender, but when I was a kid I could have done it.
