Warham Camp and Binham Priory..... in Norfolk, this afternoon

The pub where Pixie was given a free treat!

The narrow lane up to the very impressive Warham Camp from the village..

The river Stiffkey...

The best preserved iron age fort in East Anglia built within a bend in the river Stiffkey over 2000 years ago by the Iceni and reused in the Roman period, and possibly by the Danes as the local name for this site is 'Danish Camp' ....

The Holme Oak .... could this be the descendant of one brought here by the Romans?  Or maybe brought back from a Grand Tour in more recent times....

And just up the road to beautiful Binham Priory which was founded in about 1091 by the nephew of William the Conqueror .......

very interesting, so much history. I tried to take a photo of a small white butterfly the other day and it flew away and disappeared. Same with the bumblebee I saw.

The house the Free Treat Pub is located in is just gorgeous! So many ways you can ways you can make a stone house decorative. The Warham/Danish camp certainly looks impressive in size. It must have been a fascinating place when it was crowded with people living their dayly life there. And possibly more than one dog guarding the camp.. Yes, if an oak tree could speak.. There is a tiny fir-tree in north Sweden, nothing special at all, but a carbon 14 analysis of the root told it was 9500 years old! All of a sudden I feel very young..

Thanks Cindy, great effort as always!
